I’ve loved mandalas for years but had never been good at drawing so I focused my artistic energy on acrylic abstract art and later on took up mixed media as well.
Well, one night my Mom came shopping for art supplies with me and we saw a Mandala book that’s helps people learn how to make them by hand. Knowing how much I already loved mandalas, my Mom bought the book for me and encouraged me to learn from the book. My Mom had always taught me that if you studied and practiced diligently, you could learn how to do anything.
With frequent encouragement from my Mom (learning how to create mandalas was very challenging for me) I finally learned how to make mandalas. My friends and family loved them and I even started selling my art at a monthly art fair in Fort Lauderdale.
When I learned about Redbubble I was thrilled and eager to set up my own store on the site. I uploaded pictures of all my mandalas, abstract art, mixed media creations and a few photographs. To see my art on literally hundreds of products has been a dream come true for me. I offer clothing for babies, children, men and women. Additionally, there is an extensive collection of home decor items and wall art. This “Orange Burst Mandala” is very special to me as it’s the first mandala I ever designed and completed. It is a mixed media piece as I used ink, colored pens and watercolor paints to create it. It took about 20 hours to finish! I have several more hand drawn mandalas in my store. I love making them.

I created this mixed media piece for my best friend. All the writing in the art refers to a special memory between us, spanning our 20 year friendship. There is nothing I love more then creating art for my loving family and friends. “Memories” was created with various types of ink, markers and watercolor paint on 11 x 17 inch paper.
